I truly believe that we have a lack of leadership in America today.  There is a lack of leadership in our churches, our businesses, our schools, our homes, our government, our entertainment industry and in our nation as a whole.

As a leader, learn to pause and ask questions. Learning this turns your experiences into insight.  Questions will help you learn new things, evaluate your experiences and expand your thinking on life in general and on your leadership style.

Transparency is the only way to get “close enough” with the people around you to grow as a person and as a leader.  You owe it to those you are leading around you to be transparent. 

Set goals…then achieve them.  Any goal…go after anything you want – big or small.  Strive to achieve it.  As long as it doesn’t negatively affect other people go after whatever you want.

It’s not enough to be optimistic. You must give yourself and those around you something to be optimistic about.  Talk about where you have been and where you are going.  

You cannot be the same, act the same and think the same if you hope to be successful in a world that does not stay the same. The world is constantly changing.  How are we to thrive in this?

A lot of things are ordinary.  But we strive to be extraordinary in this ordinary world.  Extraordinary is just the word ordinary with the word extra in front of it. 

How a person thinks is going to determine almost everything about that persons’ success.  The biggest gap between successful people and those who don’t succeed is not opportunity, education or resources – it’s the thinking gap. 

You can’t get where you want to go in life by living in yesterday or hoping for a better tomorrow.  So how do you get where you want to go? Growth.  Growth is the only guarantee that tomorrow is going to get better.
